We had a rough idea of the story, so we focused on our main guys, giving them hats to add some more character and a detailed storyboard followed.
Previz and animation were done in Maya. We also composed the original music in the early stages as we knew it had to fit the editing.

Most of the modeling was done from scratch. We also built a procedural cacti generator tool. After assembling the scene and our characters in Houdini we finished the scene building with some help from Quixel assets. Final touches were string and smoke simulations.
